Honest, open, humble, non-egoistic, congruent and respectful communication is the only way out of loneliness. Say what you truly think and feel and not what you think people want to hear. Give the other your ‘real’ self without obsessing about your acceptance by the other.
Express feelings of annoyance appropriately and constructively, as well as pleasant and warm feelings of love, affirmation, appreciation, admiration, etc.
Freely share your own strengths and weaknesses with the other and risk vulnerability in the relationship.
When we respect the right of the other to know our ‘real’ self, we open up a ‘real’ communication leading to ‘real’ human contact. As this human contact increases, loneliness decreases.
