This problem is due to an abnormal hypertrophic scar growth. The cartilaginous areas, such as the nose and ears, are more prone to the condition and therefore, you need to be more careful. If the problem recurs every time you get your ears pierced, you should refrain from doing it. Use clip-on or stick-on earrings instead. If the keloid persists, see a dermatologist. The dermatologist will inject it with an intra-lesional steroid to help it settle down. You will need more than one treatment. But your doctor will be your best guide in this case.
